Shalom and welcome to V’ahavta Israel, a Hebrew phrase meaning “You shall love Israel.”
In this week’s study, Dr. Baruch Korman—senior lecturer at the Zerah Avraham Institute in Israel—leads us through the final chapter of the Gospel of Luke. This closing passage reveals one of the greatest truths of our faith: the resurrection and ascension of Messiah Yeshua confirm the unshakable power and authority of G-d’s Word.
Throughout His earthly ministry, Yeshua lived in perfect obedience so that Scripture might be fulfilled. From the Law of Moses to the Prophets and the Psalms, every word pointed to Him. His suffering on the cross, His resurrection on the third day, and His ascension to heaven all testify that the Father accepted His redemptive work on our behalf.
Dr. Baruch reminds us that true discipleship means more than belief—it means obedience. To follow the Messiah is to live according to the Word of G-d, proclaiming repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations. Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to walk in faith, endure trials, and experience the joy that comes from living in G-d’s will.
The Gospel concludes with the disciples watching as Yeshua ascends from the Mount of Olives, His hands raised in blessing. Their response was worship, joy, and continuous praise in the Temple—a model for every believer today.
